Real estate brokerages are hiring agents blindly. While some brokers have trusted silos to acquire top talent, most companies are gambling with every agent they onboard. We aimed to give brokers access to the data they need to make better decisions without adding to their busy day-to-day schedules.
Summary
The journey started with James - our user persona. He represented a veteran real estate agent who decided to start his own brokerage after 10 years in the industry. A decade spent focusing on client work, however, revealed a new challenge: retaining real estate agents. It takes a lot of time to figure out the root of this problem especially when there's no data to analyze. That's where Corofy comes in.
After speaking with brokerage owners across New York City, we started to pinpoint what data would be valuable to track and consolidate into one central hub. We analyzed companies that built similar solutions for other industries and categorized that data into 4 major sections. Then, we iterated until we landed on a layout that was both easy to follow and quick to build for a lean team.
Conclusion
16 companies onboarded and major growth for a few clients later, we came away with some lessons. It's easy to overload a dashboard. Just because we can doesn't mean we always should. With each round of feedback, we were constantly reminded that less is more and the best design is invisible.
